This is an interesting case. On the one hand, we have freedom of the press, and on the other, the First Amendment is no defense against libel. Plus, Ms. Joseph's site, however reprehensible, does seem to have protection in terms of Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, which affords sites a large defense against libel, specifically, refusing to name them publishers.
In other words, I think that lawyer is going to have a much better case against the women who actually posted. It might not seem good, since Joseph is the one with the money, but a few $50 million dollar lawsuits will tend to chill libelous talk.
